The Jsense Helpline

HELPLINE FOR PARENTS AND CARERS

The JSENSE Helpline, established for the parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs, will be launching in Autumn 2019.

This service builds on our new updated website and our online tool of the mapping project, to provide information and next step advice on educational issues that are the result of a child’s special educational needs or disability. It is tailored to the specialist needs of the Jewish community and is strictly confidential.

This could include issues relating to schools; requesting statutory assessment; Education, Health and Care plans; annual reviews and inclusion in the classroom.

Signposting may include directing to the new JSENSE website, which has detailed information on legal advice, or our JSENSE Directory of Services which lists resources where you may also find the information you require. Helpline appointments can be booked for the next week by calling 0161 850 3330 or emailing [email protected].

Appointments are made available by our advisers as and when they know their availability and may be released up to thirty days in advance. A member of our team will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient appointment time.

Please be aware that telephone calls are monitored for training purposes only, and any details or notes that are taken will never be passed on to a third party and are kept completely confidential.

When booking an appointment, you will be asked to complete a Basic Information Form. If you do not wish to answer any of the questions on this form, you do not have to do so, but the information collected allows us to monitor our services. This helps us to identify gaps in our service provision, make improvements, and ensure that services are delivered in a fair way to all users. It also helps us to gather statistics supporting JSENSE funding applications to secure JSENSE‘s services for the future. Any information collated will be anonymised. By using JSENSE’s Advice Line booking system, you are agreeing to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
