A charity supporting Jewish parents, carers and siblings of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities across Greater Manchester.
JSENSE was established in 2013 to support Jewish parents, carers and siblings of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Greater Manchester.
We believe every family should feel listened to, understood and supported. Our approach is person-centred, compassionate and culturally sensitive. We take time to understand each family's individual circumstances and their child's needs. We work alongside parents and carers, supporting them to express what matters to them, have their voices heard and secure the right educational support for their child.
We also work collaboratively with schools, professionals and community organisations to promote greater understanding of SEND and strengthen support across our diverse community.

Through our dedicated helpline, we provide specialist information, advice, guidance and advocacy to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25.
0161 850 3330Our wider services include parent support groups, wellbeing sessions, skills workshops, information events, sibling groups, and SEND training and support for schools.
Our work is shaped by the families we support. We regularly consult with parents and carers to understand the services, information and support they want and need. Wherever possible, we develop and adapt our services in response to the needs they identify.
Advancing the education of Jewish children with special needs
JSENSE's registered charitable purpose is to advance the education of Jewish children with special needs. This includes supporting families to secure educational provision that reflects their child's individual needs and gives them the best opportunity to achieve their potential.
We work towards this objective by:

Providing specialist information, advice, guidance and advocacy to parents and carers.

Supporting parents and carers to understand the SEND system, make informed decisions and have their voices heard.

Developing the knowledge and skills of those working in Jewish schools and nurseries through culturally appropriate training, guidance and support.

Providing support groups, information events, workshops and opportunities for parents, carers and siblings to connect with others.

Working collaboratively with families, schools, professionals and community organisations to strengthen support for children and young people with SEND.

Consulting with parents and carers to understand the services and support they want and need, and wherever possible developing our provision in response.
Meet the team
The people who answer the helpline, run the groups and sit on the board.
All children have a right to protection, and the needs of children and adults with SEND who may be particularly vulnerable must be considered. JSENSE aims to ensure the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable adults involved with the organisation through adherence to the safeguarding guidelines.
